Safe Ride News Publications provides resources that technicians can use toward recertification. By subscribing to Safe Ride News newsletter and/or purchasing a current LATCH Manual (and taking a quiz), technicians can earn some of the six CEUs required for recertification.
Note: CPSTs and Instructors are responsible for keeping their own records in case of audit.
Safe Ride News subscription
One CEU is awarded for each year of subscription to the newsletter. Safe Ride News Publications will provide an original Proof of Purchase (POP) letter for each paid subscription. Note on your order that you want a POP; keep the POP letter in case of audit.
Can CPSTs in small offices share a subscription and get CEU credit?
Yes, one CEU will be awarded to each of the three individuals who subscribe using the Small Office Rate. (See page 3 of the catalog).
Can members of larger groups get credit?
Yes, for larger group subscriptions, such as for states, Safe Ride News Publications will provide a POP to each person in the group. Group leaders, please contact Nancy.
What happens if I lose my POP letter?
A replacement can be obtained upon request for a small service fee.
One CEU per 2-year certification period can be claimed. To earn this CEU, take the 10-question, open-book quiz below. Print the quiz out, complete it, and keep it as documentation of the CEU. Contact Nancy to have a quiz faxed or mailed to you. It will be corrected only if you are audited.

What if I have an older version of the LATCH Manual?
Pre-2011 editions will not count, because one main point of the CEU system is use of current resources. For a limited time use of the 2011 edition may be used by completing the quiz below.

How will the quiz be graded?
At this time, the quiz is only graded if you are audited.
